The Grant Process
Ready to get started?
- Hone your intentions
Who, what, when, where, why, and how: drill down to the core of your project to streamline the funding process. Our Proposal Planning Guide can help. The Foundation Relations team is also available for a conversation about your research goals and funding needs. Contact our office today.
- Get to know foundations
Foundations often fund projects that align with their mission. They want to know how your work furthers their objectives and are often open to conversations to learn more. Baylor’s Foundation Relations team serves as a liaison to foundations and makes recommendations on engaging donors.
- Find a partner to fund your work
Ready to find funding? Fill out our Project Overview form, or contact our office. You can also access our online database to search current opportunities.
- Develop a proposal
As the experts in your fields, faculty and staff provide the core content of the application. Foundation Relations can help edit and strengthen proposals to maximize your chance for success. As you develop your proposal, you can reach out to the Foundation Relations team for support.
- Build a successful application
A successful application takes time. Ensure you read all directions carefully, as every foundation will require different materials and timelines. Our team can help polish your application and provide insight into specific foundations to help bolster your chance of success. Build in time for edits and avoid a last-minute scramble to apply.
- Follow up
Let the Office of Foundations Relations know if you receive a grant. We help with reporting, grant stewardship and continued relationship building with foundations. If your application for funding is not accepted, we can help rework it for a chance of funding success with a different foundation.
